No analytics cookies until you accept
This site stores no analytics cookies until you accept them. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing that needs your consent runs until you choose Accept. Declining is just as easy as accepting, the buttons have equal weight, and the site works the same either way. This meets the consent rules of the EU ePrivacy Directive, section 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG), and the GDPR.

To remember your cookie choice, we store a single value in your browser's local storage, under the name db-cookie-consent. This is local storage, not a cookie. It stays in your browser, is not sent to a server, and holds only your choice (accepted or declined). It is needed so we do not ask you again on every page. Because it is strictly necessary for a function you asked for, it does not require consent.
Analytics (consent needed for Google Analytics)
Google Analytics 4. This sets cookies, and we load it only after you accept analytics cookies. It helps us understand how many people visit and which pages they read. We enable IP anonymisation and use Google Consent Mode, which starts in a denied state and is only set to granted once you accept.
Plausible. This is a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It is cookieless, sets no cookies, and collects no personal data. Because of this it runs on every page and does not require your consent.

How long your consent lasts

How to withdraw or change your consent
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page to re-open the banner and choose again. If you decline, or withdraw a previous acceptance, Google Analytics is not loaded and any analytics cookies can be removed through your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that happened while consent was active.
United States and other opt-out signals
If you are in a US state with privacy rights, we treat your choices here as your opt-out. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Where required, we honour browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).
